SPARTAN BAND eNEWS – November 1

HAPPY NOVEMBER!! (8 weeks until Christmas!)

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

VETERAN’S DAY FLAG INSTALL

Need 9 more drivers and 29 student volunteers for Veteran’s Day Flag install. Please sign up in Charms.

COMPETITIVE MARCHING BAND

Friday – PLAYOFFS Home football game vs Hillwood

NON-COMPETITIVE MARCHING BAND

No practice this week, but home football game Friday, November 3.

Students will need $2 to eat pizza. See below.

UNIFORM REMINDERS

This Thursday is the last day for shako exchanges. If you have borrowed any uniform parts, they must be returned to Mrs. Purdes after the game Friday night.

Any borrowed gloves or socks must also be returned to Mrs. Purdes after the game Friday night. We are beginning the process of closing out inventory. You will be held accountable for all assigned part (including shakos).

FRIDAY HOME FOOTBALL GAME

3:15p – Run through

4:30p – Dinner (Bring $2 for Papa John’s pizza) and change into uniforms

7p – Game starts

10p – After game, change/clean

FOOD CHANGES FOR PLAYOFFS

Due to the fact that we are now ‘out of budget’ on food expenses and low on pledges, we will be charging for dinner on Friday nights until playoffs are over. Every week, we will post what we are serving and the charge. Please make sure your child has money to eat on Fridays or brings a meal. Thank you!

This Friday is Papa John’s pizza – $2 per student

MID-STATE TRYOUTS

Mr. Atchley will be giving “Nerves Classes” on 11/6, 11/13. And 11/27, from 3-5pm. If your student is trying out for Mid-state, they need to attend.

Tryouts will be held on Saturday, December 2 for 11^th and 12^th graders and

Saturday, December 9 for 9^th and 10^th graders.

PLEDGES

We are still $70,000+ behind on pledge commitments for this marching season! Please continue to make your pledge donations throughout the school year as we will have expenses through May. We need and appreciate your donations to help make the band fiscally responsible.
