This message is a bit long, but we have a lot of info to pass along and a lot of quickly approaching deadlines, so please read the entire email.

SECTIONALS WILL CONTINUE TOMORROW

Full practice for all wind instruments.

BAND CLUB – PARENT MEETING

Tuesday, 7/10, 6:30p, Auditorium

Please be there as we will be sharing lots of details about Band Camp activities & more!!!

FOOD FUND PAYMENTS

The $150 Food Fund payment was due July 1 and can still be ordered through CHARMS or by bringing a check to the Parent Meeting on 7/10. Deadline for the food fund July 10, so we have enough time to prepare for band camp. If you do NOT make this payment, you are committing to feed your student for the upcoming marching band season.

If you still need to make your $250 Marching Band Fund payment, please drop it in the box in the band room at the next Sectional practice.

DCI – Drum Corp International presents “The Masters of the Summer Music Games”

Friday, 7/27 • MTSU • $35 per person

DCI show will be on Friday, July 27 to close out band camp. We have to pre-order all tickets this year. Tickets are NOW on SALE on the online CHARMS store. Deadline for ticket sales will be Tuesday, July 10. Families are welcome to attend and purchase their tickets along with their student’s, but you must provide your own transportation. All Band Students will ride the buses with band chaperones.

UNIFORM FITTINGS

7/10-7/14, 8a to 8p

Please visit this link (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0f4eacab23a5ff2-final) to schedule your mandatory uniform fitting for all percussion and wind instrument students. All fittings will be in the band room.

GEAR ORDER DEADLINES

July 14 • Navy band t-shirt (worn under uniform and on Friday football games), marching shoes, white gloves, guard shoes, guard bodysuits, guard tricot warm up sets

REMINDER: students will need a final fitting appointment. At this appointment they can view sizes of these items to assist with ordering. All items must be paid in full at time of order.

SPIRIT WEAR will open mid July and have an order deadline for early August. Details to come later.

BAND CAMP

ALL MARCHING BAND & GUARD

7/16 – 7/20 *8:00am to 8:00pm – Do NOT be late!!!

7/23 – 7/27 *8:00am to 8:00pm – Do NOT be late!!! (DCI, the last night of camp!)

*All students need to bring: a packed LUNCH, a thermos with WATER, sunscreen, hats, cooling towels, a beach towel

and their DOT book.

*Dinner will be provided for those who opted to purchase the food package. If you opted out of the food package please don’t forget to bring a packed dinner or parents may deliver dinner to your student at 4:45pm each night.

Parent Potluck – “Meet & Greet. Tuesday, 7/17, 6:30pm – All parents, you are invited to bring a dish or two to share and join us for our first Parent Potluck so we can get to know everyone better. PARENT WORKSHOPS DURING BAND CAMP:

Tues. 7/24 7-8pm SHS Library

Understand Scrip & FlipGive fundraising while you shop online – Kay Ruleman will share the benefits of participating in the Scrip program & Laurie Kamunen will introduce you to FlipGive, a new online shopping option that helps you raise money towards your students band fees.

Thurs. 7/26 7-8pm SHS Library Understanding Charms – Come ask questions and get access to the wonderful world of band operations through CHARMS. If you are having trouble accessing the site, navigating the website, ordering things through the online store or more, then please attend this workshop to get help from Kristin Kight, Tami Bell and Kimberly Reed!

FLAGS – Order Status & Renewals

A large volume of flag subscriptions expired after the 4th of July installment. If you would like to get your current list of subscriptions to notify the people to renew their subscriptions please email Tammy Cleveland (summitusflag).
