Winter Guard: Though the winter program is comprised of an elite set of members. Any current Summit High School student (or 8th grader who marched in the band during fall) is welcome to audition. Membership in the fall marching program as either a member of the Color Guard, Horn Line, or Percussion Section is a requirement for participation in Winter Guard.

The Winter Guard performs at events held by SGCG. The Summit Winter Guard won the Tennessee State Champions for the 2021 season in class Scholastic AA!!

Color Guard Instructor Profiles

Tristen Hamilton

Tristen Hamilton has been with the Summit Color Guard since 2015. Her color guard adventure started in 2010, in Knoxville, TN at Bearden High School. In 2014, right after graduation, she performed with MCDC. The following 1 winter season and 3 fall seasons she performed with MTSU Color Guard while she pursued her degree in Art Education. When Tristen started teaching Summit Color Guard in the fall of 2015 she absolutely fell in love with the kids and community. Now she teaches Art at Longview Elementary right down the street!

Jeremy Hewgley

Jeremy Hewley has been with the Summit Color Guard since 2018. Jeremy started color guard his Sophomore year of high school with an independent winterguard called Aspire Winterguard. After marching 2 seasons in winterguard with Aspire, he decided to march with Eklipse Winterguard during senior year. He performed with Eklipse winterguard for the 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 seasons. During the winter of 2017 he decided to continue marching and tried his first year in World Class winterguard with Lexis World. He had the amazing opportunity of marching with Lexis World Guard for the 2017, 2018, 2019 and the 2020 seasons. On top of performing, Jeremy has had the opportunity to work with a lot of programs in the Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky areas.

Scott Atchley

Scott Atchley is the Summit staff member / band director that works with the Summit Winter Guard as needed.
